Hi all, I finally found time to post about my betta tank!

Originally I planned on having a betta sorority tank. I bought two females, then realized the one was actually a male, his fins had just been nipped short by the females in the fish shop's tank.

The female then went into my 100L tank, and the male went to this, the 47L.

The tank hasn't got a scape, just lots of plants. He seems to enjoy hunting in all the stems. Currently his only tankmates are a batch of guppy fry (when they were tiny he tried to put them into a bubble nest), and some molluscs (ramshorns, pond snails, and freshwater limpets).

I plan to add a few kuhli loaches, and perhaps some of my wild coloured male guppies. Or maybe some corys, I still need to decide.

    On to the photos!
Lovely, lush mud. I capped it with a thick layer of black gravel.

And then of course the murk that ensued:

Water changes and lots of filter floss later it cleared nicely

Sad betta boy, already his fins have grown a lot!

Happier betta, he's getting a silver sheen.

I added a moss wall to the back of the tank, mostly because I had a ton of moss and nothing else to do with it.

I also planted a little lily. Its leaf catches all the duckweed and little bits of pearl grass.

Sorry for the glare and terrible photo quality, I just have my phone to take photos with.

Anyway, if you have any ideas, suggestions, improvements, let me know! I would love for my betta to be as comfortable as possible.

Well done with getting the Betta healed.
It almost looks like you're going to have a duckweed wall instead of a moss wall.

As far as I can tell, it isn't actually duckweed.
I bought unspecified "aquatic plant seeds" at RBM ages ago and tried to get them growing, I think they stuck to the java moss since it was in the same tank at the time.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see what grows :D

He is looking worlds better, congrats!

Some hardscape would probably help to add some variety to the tank, but is by no means necessary. You could almost go for a Dutch style aquascape, if you get some more stem plants and keep them in bunches.
