You can some times be surprised how many people want them because lots of people use play sand.

It is a pond snail - bladder snail to be exact. Keep an eye on the population if there is more than one. They breed so quickly and easily - i used to have them til their population exploded and started leaving a lot of poop all over, even on the leaves and they don't really do a good job of algae cleaning. That's why I got rid of them.

Like the beach affect, just careful that you do not cut light off with the plants below the hornwort .. looks fine but in reality nothing really grows under hornwort - well except algae of course. If you have to keep them.. maybe plant them as a back wall.

The bolbitis has black hair algea so i might cut it out. The java fern doesn't require high light but i will surely cut down the hornwort or replace the background plants with hornwort (although i would prefer thick leaf plants).

Hornwort is excellent if you want to protect Guppy fry from their parents, but it can be messy.
I had to vacuum my tank daily as the hornwort was throwing off leaves due to temperature differences.
It was like a carpet of small pine needles every day.

You could try and lower the light intensity by adding some Rooibos tea to the tank.
It gives it a blackwater effect, and has anti fungal properties.
I generally add 1 teabag for every 40L, and remove it after 24 hours.

    Shrimp are masters of hiding.
If you have 100, you might be lucky to see 10 - 20.

I got the bolbitis with black hair algea so i will see how the new leaves grow before trying your suggestion. The guy at Sam's suggested horn wort for shrimp fry once i get other tank mates

Yip you than know all of it had BBA on. Thinking of getting more but don't want a massive snail problem. Plus this snail just eat it when it want to
