Thanks for the science lesson @f-fish. Makes a lot more sence now. Or at least the understanding that everything we put in our tanks, eg plants and wood, supplies a form of nutriants for the biofilm to form. Which means that over feeding won't be the cause in this case. As proven.

I like how you are filling the tank form the back and letting things grow into the space ...

I have have not revised my view on these 10 watt lights - still think on can get cheaper better in the same lm/watt range ... but nothing is cheaper than something you already have. On Blackjack I have now proven to myself that we can overcome the "wrong" spectrum and not the "ideal" light by just hammering it with more light. Most plants seem to adapt to more of the wrong spectrum vs little of the optimum spectrum. Only downside that I see - you burn some extra power and algae loves it if you get it wrong either side of "ideal".

"" enough of this "" he he not sure why my fingers want them "rabbits" ears this morning.

No go on love to learn from others but yes and if i can get cheaper lights i won't mind. Paid R100 for 2 10 watt lights.

Problem is i hate the algea and with current light I'm already getting loads on algae on the glass.
I can move the light up but than the tank look more dull

I have the same lights. Bought my pair at pnp for also R100. My tank also also started to develop some algae, but added more plants.

Recently I have lost interest in my planted tank but i decided that maybe a new scape can get me going.

What i can say is there's room for me and parents certainly feel the empty space needs to be filled with something.

I can grow onto this scape. Buce growing nicely

Your scape is looking very good. I like the open swimming space on the left.

It happens that life gets crazy ... and then something else takes hold. Change of seasons is also a good indicator.

Always good to get some new insperation going. Best way to do it is by getting your hands wet.
