It smell like grond soil. I know Hendre said its protein build up but how do i take care of it. Increase surface movement doesn't help

 

Get a surface skimmer.

 

How much of what do you feed?

Get an internal filter and turn it upside down, that's worked for me

 

Got the one on the left and also hooked up my diy co2 it. Works wonderfully.

I feed pallets daily and tablets every 2nd or 3rd night.

Yes you can. Does however not look good.



Those little surface skimmers are really very cheap.

 

If its less noisy than this diy story than I'll look into it. Please post link. 2mins of skimming and almost all film is gone.

What cause this besides food.

I would like to attack the causes... Changing food didn't help since all food has protein.

 

I do not believe it is the food. Unless you are overfeeding. Up the maintenance and water changes, increase surface agitation and do surface skimming.

 

No overfeeding... Might be water changes since i did bi weekly on this tank. And only recently increase surface agitation.

Had the same issue with tetra pellets. Maybe it's poor digestibility and ingredients... But you don't feed much. This is weird

 

Maybe too much for 11 tetras... But cory and sae clean up. Most i ever seen was 3 pellets left over. I do think is some decaying matter of the plants.

Will do water change and start feeding less.

 

Check for dead fish or snails ... can cause havoc in the water.

Maybe snails but all fish present. About a week or 2 in the 100l so all fish is present.

Water smells like land and just rinse prefilters. Felt like mud when i squreze the pre filters
