Plant ID required

    Hi Guys

    can someone assist in my lack of knowledge of plants and ID this couldnt see it in the plant DB but i could be blind

    That is a Dracaena - common name is lucky bamboo. Not a true aquatic, I'm afraid.

    @tracyp is spot on I'm afraid - that plant won't last long underwater. You will commonly find it at your local nursery or supermarket as a potted, medium sized houseplant.

    If the other plants in your pictures are in your tank and are true aquatics then remove the little plastic baskets and the rock wool around the roots.

    Good advice but I hope the other plants are NOT in your tank as everything I can see in the pic is NOT aquatic - I see acorus and mondo grass... I do hope you havent bought any of those!

    hehe nope - was doing some homework for my soon to be planted angel tank,

    But good to know - goes to show that LFS doesnt know its stuff once again

    @Relborg - Find out which other LFS are near you. The sponsor shops in JHB have definitely got true aquatics and I'm sure the plants will be in good shape.

    Yup will do, we were just doing the usual Sunday drive around and haven't seen this at the other shops which peaked my interest
