Hi, are there any websites that can provide some suggestions on how to lay a 1.5 x 0.6 x 0.6 tank out with plants?

    Thanks

Not really, but do a google search for any on Takashi Amanos, Tomm Barr and Fluo's tanks and you're bound to get some cool ideas.

How can you ask us? Doing it yourself is the most fun :D I suppose a 1.5 could be a bit intimidating...

Thanks to all contributions! One site was of the opinion, I should rather focus the first 12 months on how to grow plants (CO2, KNO, fertiliser,....)... then the art can come.... :blink1::mad::blink1:.

Some training lies ahead! Lets see if there is a short cut....

    The shorcut goes like this.

    Add plants.......Remove dead plants:p

    Hope everything works out.

First, familiarize yourself with which plants are supposed to go where in your tank. Once you know this, you will easily scape any tank properly. ie, you won't put Limnophillas in front as they are backdrop plants...same for Rotala Macranda etc etc. Just ensure you know what plant is supposed to go where and you'll be fine

    Cheers

I find when you just stick tons of plants in, it tends to look awesome... Although, as Dale said, you don't want the taller ones in the front etc. unless you are going for something interesting. You can get java moss, java fern and anubias to grow on rocks or wood, which can be interesting.

    Have a look at this

    Dankie Gaawie!

Still busy with the wet and dry run on the soil... By the time I start to plant, I should have done the "required" research...

    Question:
Apparently dolomite and "Muriate of Potash" is required (suggested). Bought a bag of Culterra Lime for the dolomite. From Dischem I have obtained Potassium Permangante - Is this "Muriate of Potash"?

On the other plant site, Prof. Bellstedt recommend against adding those items to the mix.
I am almost sure the the Culterra Lime is not the right thing in any case. But I would check with him.

    Hi Darryn
    Hi Darryn

Thanks for your input. You mention the prof has some more information on another site. What is the site you mention? Also, I pick up the prof has his own fertiliser. Have you bought some of it? How does this work? I am in Gauteng

    Regards
