hi guys im in the process of making a canopy for my 4ft and i just saw doudle-d's post about the same thing didnt want to hijack he's thread as my question is slightly different

firstly i have glass sliders on my tank that will remain there the canopy is purely for cosmetic purposes will i still need to waterproof the inside of the canopy?
im using laminated pine its roughly 20mm thick and am not sure if the of humidity that still gets through will warp and trash my wood

secondly this canopy is pretty heavy! will it be safe to sit ontop of the tank in the long term?
ive seen cabineted tanks in the lps and they have like oak canopy's and stuff which are even thicker and look much heavier than mine?

    thanks

Rather give it a lick of paint or varnish.... better safe than sorry and watching your hard work warp to a pretzel...

wieght should be fine if it is evenly distributed....
