Photo comp theme ???????

How about a fish photo only - like Linxie's or a full tank shot of a planted tank or fish only tank or a standard mixed community!

I like the idea of themes ,full tank shots ect as Gert mentioned as well as mabey Cichlids one month, catfish another month, live bearers another month ect

 

I think a theme is best, as it would make the judging process a bit easier. Every now and then we could have an open competition as the first one was, but themes, as long as we can think of them, could work very well.

Themes will work. Cause you might have a empresive tank shot but a fish closeup always looks better???

 

So nothing crazy like only fish with one eye ? Nah like the idea of open pic - but what about something like it must have been taken in the month of the competition? Or even better yet - all photos in that months threads are automatically the entry - that way one has context for the photo - not just another photo taken with no story. (not saying that the photos posted had no story, but you get the point, I hope ...)

 

Perhaps we can divide the competition into categories - each person submits say three pics, one of a full tank, one closeup and one of a specific fish group for example, and the best of each category are chosen? Might be over complicating, just putting ideas out there.

 

I think we should just keep it simple. Zebra Plec, you will almost never accomodate everyone. You and Rory should just say what the theme is, and if we can't fit in, we wait for next round. Simple.

 

Well said. Either wait for the next round or succumb to MTS and get another tank so that you can fit in.

 

If you theme the comp you might cut out a whole load of potential entries...

I think running a theme is brilliant because not everyone has a planted tank, a cichlid tank and a community tank. So it gives an opportunity to those that have specific setups and fish a chance to enter their pics.

 

yep, the simplest easiest way.

 

What about a theme one month then a free for all next month then a theme again.ect ect.

 

Maybe for this months comp we can do Photos of plants or Catfish
