Pet Stop Rietfontein - Fire?

    Haven't had a chance to go have a look, but I heard this morning that Pet Stop Rietfontein burnt down.

    Anyone know anything?

    Yes it burnt down. Apparently because of a DVD player. Hope no animals were harmed.

    A Note to all members:

    Based on the serious nature of the events contained in this thread, can I ask that all members please show some professionalism with this thread. This is obviously a sensitive issue to Pet Stop, and I do not believe us speculating on how it started, questioning where security were, or what could have prevented it would make any benefit to Pet Stop.

    I am sure that Pet Stop will make a statement as soon as he is ready.

    Hi SHiBBy,
    I was there this morning, and sadly it is so. We were told by a lady from a restaurant in the centre that at 5 o’clock yesterday morning a fire erupted in the shop and all was lost except for a few fish and snakes that were donated to the zoo, according to her. I was so shocked I neglected to ask how it started. It looks real bad.

    Yes, thank goodness! I wish I had taken more of them! On Friday I was still helping Didi get emergency airlines to some of the tanks with the power outage, and now I'm not sure how many of those fish survived. I think 98.5% of the members on this forum would be more than willing to take care of the surviving fish while the shop is being rebuilt!

    Isn't it odd that I bought a FIRE-eel there on Friday..?
