It is a small tank - so lets keep it simple.

Made some space and think I will be using normal strip LED's - one for now might play with some others a bit later on.

    11.8 Volt @ 380mA

Had to move the canisters a bit - hate moving canisters in cold weather, always feels like you are going to break the pipes clean off.

Using a small resun internal -mainly just filter floss. It is way over powering and at 4 watts not exactly an efficient bit of kit, all I have right now so will use it.

Going to let it sit ... light are not on any timer at the moment. Simple to move over to the normal lights feed if needed.

I am not convinced the HOB thing is the way to go on nano tanks ... but I need to try right.

So this morning I was pleased with how well the internal polished the water. Even if the current is so strong that the substrate got blown around a bit. So hot a small HOB form LFS - to validate my feeling on the HOB and a nano tank.

Added some extra substrate - to create some stuff that needs filtration. Lets see how things look in the morning.

Sorry could not resists - grab this one - so now I have perfect tank A ( i.e number 37 and a new unopened number 38) and B.

B has not yet been opened.

I did ask the LFS to get me 4 more - maybe they can get more ;-)

Crap, that is a lot of tanks - whether they're active or not. I would not know where to keep them - with the lack of space in my place.

Going to use this fert from top-aqua.com, also got it from Lifestyle.

    10ml per 40l ... so it should last me a while ;-)

hmm might have underestimated the HOB - need to give it a bit more time.

Ignore the bad marketing, it is 3 watt, pot is not that big and it only has a sponge as filter, but if I need to man handle it then it will be an easy DIY fixer.

Ja ok - it is actually not doing a bad job ... maybe the one plus point is that it actually breaks the water surface better than just stirring it like the flow from the internal.

No occupants yet, somehow I feel this will make a great guppy tank ;-)

Might add some more green in front.

Man these small tanks make you want to faff.

Looking great ! You adding co2 ? and where is your heater ?

I am between deciding to get hob or canister filter . I want external things ( heaters ,filters and Co2 ) to be hidden as far as possible.

Still looking for a inline heater.

No CO2 yet ... no heater - not planning on one at this stage either. CO2 is a matter of getting a diffuser that but lets see. I have been thinking allot about the amount we filter water - if you have very low / no fish load what are you filtering for? HOB I am still wondering about, but it seems to work OK for now. Yeah the stuff in a small thank is a bugger - just adding the thermometer makes your eye to look at that first.

If you want heater, CO2 and filtration out of sight - a DIY filter tank behind your NANO might the way - more water volume and a place to hide stuff.

The guys who landed these small tanks really did a good job to make sure all the bits are available - so you get the small tank that needs a small HOB that needs a small CO2 diffusser that needs small LED light for plants that needs a preset small flat heater. They landed it all - but not all LFS's get it so they "order" the wrong stuff, lucky my LFS has what I need - well they did ;-).

Side note - none of the plants come from thanks that had CO2 or disinfectant ... so ja. Slow growth and all that, I am OK with for now.
