    Hi there.

How to start... I had 2 peppered Cory's , male and female, they started breeding and I managed to get about 13 fry to teenage level, however during the mating period, somehow the male cory dissapeared(no idea where he went or what happened, the one morning when I put the lights on he was just gone, took everything out the tank and couldn't find a corpse), anyway the female has been stressed out since that happened about a month ago. PH: 6.8/7.2
    KH: 0
    N02: 0
    NO3: 0
    Cl2: 2.
I dont know how to calm her down. Please help.

    2 issues I see

    1: your nitrate shouldn't be 0
2: your chlorine should be 0

This could have caused stress to the female as well as any other fish in there. You say the male is missing. What other fish are in there with them? Perhaps something ate him?

Thanks for getting back to me. The chlorine was a typo, it is also 0.

The other fish in the tank is 4 white cloud minnows 6 neon tetras and a common pleco. The tank is 60l. Since the incident with the male dissappearing, I took the pleco out and put him in another 60l tank.

Common plecco definitely would chow on a dead fish so that's likely to have happened

I fully agree. So yea the female Cory is very stressed still, her abdomen is a little red, she is swimming around actually like she wants to lay eggs.

Hi Victor, your nitrate levels are quite low, and a pleco would easily take down a little cory. If you want the female cory to breed successfully next time, I would place the pleco in a seperate tank to avoid mysterious disappearances :)

Thanks Cary's. I actually just want the Cory to chill out, she isn't with the pleco now. She is with 8 neon's, 4 minnows and her baby Cory's, she is still swimming all over the place as if she wants to lay eggs.

Not convinced the stress is due to her wanting to lay eggs.
She can drop the eggs, with or without the male present.

Please post a photo of the fish in question.

I agree - if op says the stomach is a bit red, definitely something else going on. When I kept peppered cories, they were really active and usually went nuts all over the place so that is actually part of their personality so I wouldn't worry too much about her or them being quite active and all over the place and that doesn't mean she's stressed. Perhaps you should get another male and she'll be back to normal breeding.
