Pearl Gourami Behaviour

    Hi guys,
    As some may know, I recently purchased a Pearl Gourami ( called Yakuza). I have noticed that he has been acting really skittish and shy recently. Is this him getting used to the tank or could there be something wrong with the water? Any insight would be appreciated.

    I have kept them in the past.
    A male with 2 or 3 females seems to work well
    They can get quite boisterous, so choose tank mates accordingly.

    I have a couple glowlight tetras with them and planning on getting a bristle nose pleco

    They are quite common, so should turn up at your lfs eventually.

    Have you tried any of the sponsors?

    It's just hard to tell the difference between males and females and I don't want to screw up

    They are all prob youngsters.
    If you spend some time studying them, there more aggressive ones are possibly the males. The less so - females.
    Otherwise take a few, and see what pairs up, and return the extra males to the lfs
