    Hey there!
A friend of mine has quite a few new additions to her tank (about 15 babies) And we dont know what to do :(

How did any of you deal with parting with baby guppies that you have bred? The feeling of giving them away, or selling them isnt fun :( We are both the type of moms who get very attatched, very quickly!:embarrest:
She has rearranged her tank to make less coverage for the babies, but their numbers are just growing. She is thinking about separating the males and females, but doesnt have the necessary things to make another tank. I will help her to get it up and running etc

We are both worried about overstocking the tank. Me as well, when I eventually get to this point!

He-he @Kels... As godparent to tens of Thousands of fishies through the years, all I can say is that you GOT TO keep the fishes health as a guideline... yes,we are all emotionally atached to our charges... But that's what they are - our charges...We controll their environment,so we have to prevent them overcrowding....

Get more tanks or sell them here on TASA...@ least you know that with TASA members, they will get good homes...

ye for sure! We are both worried about the fishies, but I wasnt actually clear in my OP, so what i want to know is, what should we do when we want to get rid of them? Sell them to our LPS ? sell them on here?

Has anyone had experience with doing such things? At what age should they be rehomed? what is the general cost of fry?

Somehow guppies find a balance when you hit say 60 - 90 in a 3ft .. what I can suggest is reduce the temp if you are running it higher than 22 .. try not to drop it lower than 18 (practically I have only seen boyu heaters go down to 16 and most German / Italian brands will do 18) this slows the growth rate down and then you have less drops. Also be sure to not overfeed.

Selling anything (fish or plants) makes the hobby dirty in my eyes, then you try and cost recover and start doing things for the wrong reason. Rather give the fry to a LFS or something.
