Paradise Fish

Was reading in a book that paradise fish can be kept in temp in the low teens and have been know to survive in water as cold as 5 degrees. With that in mind can they be kept in a outside pond where temp in winter drop to the mid/low teens.

Has anyone had any experience with these fish before

Just an idea
Any suggestions

 

It mite be possible But I wouldn't do it.rather keep them in a tank with a heater.if you want to put fish in a pond take Tilapia,Guppies,Koi,Mollies,sword tails and Maybe some other fish.

 

A friend in cape town breeds his paradise outside in ponds where temperature do drop below the teens and had very great succrss.

 

I will feel confident with keeping them without a heater inside my fish room or garage..... (as I've kept them before)... just not sure about outside throughout the winter.... Bit dicey.....

 

This guy here in cape town has been keeping his paradise fish for years he had loses during winter but also had success in breeding outside.

 

When I had them, they did very poorly in my outside tank. Had to bring them inside with a heater.
They also very agro fish .
