    Hi Guys

I bought 4 panda cory's and 2 Julii cory's on Sunday and when I got home on Monday 2 of the panda cory's were dead. Are they more finicky than Julii's? I would like to get more as the cory's are not really schooling together but I want to find out more detail in case I am causing their death. Otherwise I can get Sterbaai cory's. Any suggestions/help would be great.

Panda's for some reason seem to be a pit on the pissy side, also had a few issues with them, as for the Sterbai's, they are more "hardy" IMO

@Vez - Thanks. This is exactly the sort of answer I'm looking for. I went back to the LFS today and their Panda's have a red spot on their sides. Kind of looks like gill burn. Is this "blood" spot normal?

Most times when fish land, and the LPS place them in their tanks, they need to settle in, most of the times the LPS willl have a high PH reading, and this will cause the gills to be more "Red" than usual. as well as Ammonnia

I have had plenty of corry's:

    Panda
    Albino
    Bronze
    Bandit
    Sterbai

and out of them all, only the Albino, bronze and Sterbai seemed to be the hardest! the others always "gone missing'

@Vez - Again, thanks so much. The Panda's are really cute and maybe I'll get some more some day but for now I think I should get Sterbai's. They only arrived at the LFS today so I suppose I will need to quarantine them.

i must admit that i try and buy my fish a day before the next shipment lands, as the fish that are still at the LPS have been in the tank for almost a week, and all the weak ones have already died. Giving you a beter chance at the survival of the new fish

Correct yes, but they tend to get a bit on the large side, same as the Albino and Bronze, the Sterbai's are a bit smaller in size

I have found that the Sterbai corys get some sort of condition that looks like dandruff. It looks like white flakes falling off the fish. It doesnt seem to bother them so I havent worried about it. 3 out of my 5 have it and someone else in PE that has Sterbais has also told me that some of hers have it as well. Is this usual for them?

@Vez - I wish I could buy them the day before new stock arrive but they are very popular at my LFS and the Sterbai I saw today will probably be gone tomorrow :frown:

@KennyG; @Vez - I thought about pre paying/reserving. I've never done it myself but I have seen post it notes/stickies attached to tanks saying reserved etc. Good idea . That way if they die it's not my problem!
