I dont know if it is such a good idea as the canopy is exposed to so much constant moisture.

I plan on sealing my canopy with pond liner after first varnishing it with polyurethane varnish.

The paint has to be weatherproof, i.e. suitable for exterior use.

The regular white Interior/Exterior Gloss Enamel works well. The gloss and white colour will aid your canopy's light reflectability.

Isn't 'Luxurious Silk' expensive though? You might as well throw some diamonds in with your substrate then, lol.

Also confirm what surfaces it is suitable to be applied to or whether it needs a specific primer.

The last thing you want is the paint flaking off the wood or damp seal and your fishies having a feast on 'luxurious silk'... :push:

@Immy yeah thats true. think i'll rather go buy me a tin of gloss enamel. is there anything i need to use as a primer/undercoat? or do i paint the enamel straight on the wood?

I agree there, @fiza. I'm a perfectionist, so I'd also rather get some enamel and save the Silk for a 'higher' purpose.

You'll just have to check the directions on the tin, as quality differs from brand to brand. 'Brand El Cheapo' might need a primer, but 'Brand B' won't etc.
