I thought I would share this with you all, this is my male Siamese Fighter in his 30L tank just after a water change and I cleaned the pump as well. He has a habit of attacking the pump outflow (it used to pump bubbles but hasnt in a long time :p)

He has been at it for almost an hour now! He normally does it for a short bit then goes and builds a bubblenest. For some arb reason today hes still attacking it!

He normally does it once or 2 times a day. So far he hasnt stopped! I know tho there are more than enough places for him to go relax in once he decides he is over this madness. But this just shows me fishies have so much more character than what some people give them credit for!

I ended up turning his light off but I went out for the rest of the afternoon and only got back this morning and he was still at it! Less than yesterday but still not a happy camper, hes managed to rips his fins to shreds due to all the flaring and attacking. And I decided to baffle that end a little by stuffing a small (about the size of 1/2 a pea) filter sponge into the pipe. It seems to have helped, hes calmed down and is now swimming all over the tank. I suspect what happened was the flow was to strong for him. When I did the water change on his tank yesterday I also decided to clean the filter pump out just to make sure no snails are getting in anywhere - I cleaned a lot of dirt out of the pipe it self - it was half blocked. So the cleaning made the output flow a lot stronger than what he was used to it seems like, at least that seems to have stopped the crazy behavior.
