    Hi All

    Newbie here and will share my planted journey for those that like to follow others’s systems. Please feel free to critique and give advise….

    We bought a 120 Elegance system and did the initial setup to start the cycle. Substrate used Amazonia and then colorado sand for contrast.
    Added some dragon rock. Want to to and keep it minimalistic with only shades of green. Something carpeting for the front and then stuff that gets taller towards the back of the tank. I envision something like the rolling hills of Scotland
    Now planning ……

    A six week update! CO2 in this large tank was a mission. Inline CO2 eventually got us to the correct levels. GH is still low and probably needs fixing? We had horrible algae, but is it is getting better after we resolved CO2 and upgraded lights

    Looks so nice! Question though.. Is there a way you could stop the amazonia mixing with the sand?

    Thank you. Unfortunately not, I tried and my corydoras decided they prefer it mixed. So who am I to argue. Hahahaa

    Difficult to stop. But a strong fridge magnet picks amazonia out of the sand, which can then be deposited back in between the plants :)

    Mine did the same. I keep forgetting to buy neodymium magnets on Amazon to resolve it but when I do I'll hopefully get my scape back lol
