As the title states Oscars with Bichirs , Is it do able?

Im looking for cool tank mates with Oscars to begin planning my next tank. Bichirs are one of the options but this also limits plecos. Any cool oddball suggestions for Oscars will also be appreciated !

I have a friend who has alligator gar and bichirs together with Oscars in a 1.8m tank. I think that tank is too small but they all live fine together

    How big is the tank?

Might be doable in a very big tank.
But the Oscar will probably hassle the Bichir if it doesn't have enough room to get away from any unwanted attention.

IMO (no offence) but that's not big enough for the Oscars alone. They get huge

1.8m or 2m is the minimum I'd go for 2. I did have 4 in a 1.5m before and after the first year it got really cramped. They were definitely larger than 30cm. And when I got them they were smaller than my index finger

2m tank would be recommended. Polypterus endlicherii would get big enough to not get chowed by the Oscar. Sens/dels start off much smaller so there's that risk. Aggression depends on the personality of the oscar

Yes without a doubt. It's hard to explain but when they're more than one you can literally see them getting in the way of each other

yeah make sense , probably should of stated I only really wanted 1 , 2nd one was a possibility but despite being cramped that bio load would be massive
