My Oscar grabbed this earthworm out of my eels mouth and tried to get it all in.

you must always chop up the earthworms, get out all the muck (sand) from inside them and wash thoroughly before feeding...

Or get the smaller ones :blink1: Leave the big ones in the ground to breed :p

Useless tip: Throw all your used tea bags under the ground. This makes a nice "area" for the earth worms and they lay their eggs in there.

    nice pics
    gotta love oscars
I always colect about 10 or so earthworms leave them in a glass of water until they are pale pink then chuck em in.as your oscars get bigger they will wait by the water edge when they see earthworms in your hand and jump out of the water and grab em from you.

Found the one outside and gave it to the eel. the oscar ate blood worms just before this but seems he wanted more. he ripped the worm in pieces. Thanks for the advise . Im not going to go get earthworms everyday. just wanted to see if they even wanted the worm.

I think you can "clean" the earthworm by leaving it in some maize for a bit.

They have very short digestive tracks so all the dirt and gunk should be gone. The same thing they do with snails before feeding them to humans.

Just hope your oscar likes mielie pap.:p
