What would you prefer? I got a 1.5m x .6m x .6m tank from a friend, and I would like to make it a specific specie.

First of all they are all cichlids - I would go for Angels, but I am biased towards them :)

Make a really nice Amazon Biotype tank with Angels, Cory's and some larger tetra's

Well I figure you will get a horribly biased answer from everyone.

Perfect size tank for two Oscars :)

I also agree with Zaf - you just have so much more fish to chose from if you go with angels. Oscars would make a meal of most fish you can keep with angels.

Definitely angels! As Kuhli says - it allows you a greater variety of other fish which compliment them.

PS: I am VERY biased on angels as well :)

yup ,, 2 oscars and a couple of cats.

I'd say Discus and angels... They occur together naturally, why limit yourself?

if you prefer a densly planted tank then go with the angels and discus, otherwise oscars and other cichlids is your other choice

Discus are extremely maintenance hungry in a densely planted tank. While it is possible, you should do alot of homework in this before you set it up...

I'd say go for Angels, and some smaller, though fast (dont become food) fishies to add some movement to the scene, but not discus and angels, its like having two divas on the same stage singin different tunes, - not mentioning the maintenance issue, i'm just thinking the spotlight should fall on one big fish group. and angels are easier and less trouble to care for (discus sounds like a finniekie bastard with all their eating and pooing and still wanting their water not to smell like a discus-fart...)

Go for angels, then look around for some other unique cichlids to mix with them - maybe some Geophagus or Rams :)

Looks like Angels are gonna win this battle - GO Angels GO

There are some really nice rare-ish cichlids to go with angels - Uaru, Mesonauta (my fav) Apisto's and a selection of really cool Cory's Agassizi, Sterbai, Trifasciatus
