    Hi All,

My LPS swears by this stuff and managed to sell me a 1Lt bottle now. Is this any good, goes anyone know the product?

It doesn't say what's in the bottle unfortunatley so I can't give a break down, but we're talking plant fetz here.

    Thanks,
    C

    Well,

Not using any other ferz currently, and I am definately seeing some new growth forming. I don't feel that this is as 'magical' as the LPS makes it out to be, but it is definately helping in my tank. Will continue to use it untill I run out and I can replace it with something better.

I have spoken to the manufacturer of this brand a couple of times in the past. Like you mentioned it does not state on the products what it contains. They wanted me to stock their products, but I wanted to know what is in it before I would sell it to anybody. I did not want their exact recipe or trade secrets. They however refused to tell me anything, so I refused to stock their products. I do not put anything in my tanks if I do not know what it is, so how can you sell something if I do not know what it is.

    Guys,

So just a FYI... It's been a week now.

I have terrible light in my tank (250Ltr with only I think 2 x 25W T5s), and previously most of my plants seemed to have slowly started to rot away. This was the main reason why I was looking at some fertz. I've been using this for a week now and I am glad to report that my Java fern has actually pushed two entirely new leaves, allot of my ground plants are really coming along very nicely, and I have two floaters as well which has grown in excess of 2cm. It seems that this stuff does actually work rather well and I am sure that my tank would actually florish very nicely when I sort out my lights (and CO2).

Am busy with some significant investments into my tanks (Lights, CO2, stands, sumps, loads of new plants, etc), so given what I've seen so far from this, I am more than happy and actually surprised..

Stuff is good. It was the only product I ever used on my ponds. I used to get the 5l bottle (G3 i think).
The product is not as well marketed as it could be. I know that the manufacturer had some problems or something and as a result its hard to find any info. However if you are looking for more, I should be able to get you a supplier in the Westbeach area.

My LPS arround the corner from me stocks it (I got a 1L container). I'm sure if I ask they can supply the 5L containers as well.

I can definately see it is helping. Some plants has shown about 3cm growth so far in the now 2 week period. Everything from where the new stem has split, is new in the last 2 weeks since using the Fertz.

A bit off topic but if you want to use CO2 try to avoid a sump as it will cause loss of CO2, maybe try and hook a canister to the tank.

There's right and wrong ways to do it. When done correctly, there's no reason why a sump with CO2 won't work. This is a thread all on it's own however with pros and cons both ways (same with the arguments). Essentially however, you inject the CO2 inline with your return pipe to the tank, and the CO2 has no alternative BUT to mix into the water.

I see apologies for the off topic as stated before.. I will await your thread on the sump then as the above statement is also debatable:top:

Back to topic then, I am curious to see this product in comparison with let's say Seachem.. I have not seen it here in JHB as yet, is the supplier based in CT?

Seems there's only two retailers in JHB... Retail Outlets You can buy online directly from them though, at least, it looks that way. The company itself is based in the Western Cape which can explain why they have so many shops in CPT carrying their product and so little in JHB.
