Hi all , my platinum angels have spawned in my community tank and I'm not sure what to do , in the first place the water has a ph of 7.5 and gh of 7 so I am not sure if the eggs would even hatch cause this is pretty high as far as breeding angels go , if they do hatch I'm guessing I would have to remove the fry as they are in a community and might get eaten but at the same time it is hard for me to replicate the same water conditions as my tap water ph is around 8.6 and the reason the main aquarium is lower is cause of the drift wood and the fact that it is a mature aquarium , so either way I'm guessing it might not go well and should not get my hopes up but I can't help but hope I might actually get some babies out of this , any advice on how I might actually achieve some sort of success with this accidental spawning?

Your water parameters are OKish. Do you have any Brine Shrimp eggs?

Don't buy any BBS eggs that weren't stored in a freezer. The hatch rate will be very very low.
Get something like 'Hikari Tropical First Bites' as a backup food.

What other fish are in the community? Maybe you can move the other fish out rather than move the fry. It is a bit risky to raise fry in an un-cycled aquarium. A cycled mature aquarium can handle the bio load and has the benefit of infusoria for the fry.
Alternatively move the fry into a breeder nets in the same aquarium?

I have 3 other tanks but they all small , 1 has my breeding assasin snails in , another has my young white clouds in from this year's spawning and the third has my red cherry shrimp in.

So you do have a few tanks to put the fry into. You can maybe split the fry between those tanks.

All the eggs were eaten during the night , my best guess is the pleco or cory's , I think I read that angels can spawn after 2 weeks if the eggs are removed or lost so I'm thinking I will try set something up to be a little better prepared next time.

That sucks. Yes, they might lay eggs again. An aquarium just for them would be best.

Pics arnt showing. First time parents usually eat the eggs as well. But another problem is breeders raise fry mostly so the angels don't have any parenting skills. U can remove the leaf wood or cone to another tank and set air stone close. Ur pH is fine don't fiddle. U can dissolve boiled egg yolk in warm water and feed to fry. But my personal opinion is nothing grows fish better than BBS.

And now round 2 , a second pair in the same community aquarium , I just set up 2 breeding aquariums today for them , was just waiting for temps to match that of my community and bam , the second pair start spawning , not bad considering I bought 4 platinum angels and have ended up with 2 pairs , what's the odds of that

@col182 , 4 fish and 2 spawning pairs... thats luck!!!

Good luck with the eggs this time but its not easy in a community tank...
But at least you know that if you set up a tank for them you have a pair and a good chance

Thanks @MariaS, I have set up 2 tanks for the 2 pairs , just didn't get them moved in time , will see how things go with this lot , if the eggs are lost I'll move them asap , first pair are already in their own tank settling in , hopefully they will spawn again soon.
