    Hi All,

    Anyone following the Olympics?

    It is dominating life here in the UK at the moment. And we have been quite successful - 22 golds so far.

    I have been lucky enough to go to 2 events. Archery last week, and athletics on Saturday.

    @Reedfish - What's your nationality? I assumed you were a South African "visiting" the UK. :bigsmile:

    @MarcHawke,

    I consider myself British.
    I was born and grew up in SA.
    But I live here now. My house is here, my job is here, my kids were born here.

    @Reedfish - I don't have tv so haven't had a chance to see the games but I did work there for 6 months. I constructed weight bridges, footways, road diversions, culverts etc. 90% of it was purely for the construction phase. I was told that my work would get ripped up and the area re-landscaped for the games. Not the most encouraging conversation. "Do a good job and in 4 years we are going to destroy it"!

    Anyway, back on topic, I was very excited to hear about our gold in the rowing the other day. I like Rowing and Hockey at the games.

    @MarcHawke,

    I am not much of a hockey fan to be honest.
    But I seem to remember hearing the GB are in the semis. Could be today?

    If I have DSTV I would most definitely be glued to the TV. I just love the olympics. I've caught a few highlights on SABC... but don't consider that as "watching"

    @Zoom,
    There is a tv on in the office here. It's been on all day.
    And then I watch all evening too. My eyes [] []

    @Zoom - Apparantly SABC is the official broadcaster of the Olympics but I hear their coverage is pretty rubish and that DSTV has 2 or 3 dedicated chanels. :laugh:

    i have to be honest i dont watch much of the games, i like the equestrian, naturally, particularly the dressage since that was the disipline i use to compete in and i enjoyed the gymnastics and diving and the synchronised swimming was cool but other wise i get impatient with it all. the opening ceremony was pretty cool though, so i definately give credit where credits due there.
