    Hi Everyone,
I had 2 tanks about 3years ago, but had to sell them due to my work requirements (travelling allot ext).
But I am now planning to start a new set-up, but want to take my time to do all my research & really get the right equipment from the start.
As I have learned from experience, if you start out with cheap inferior products & accessories you end up paying alot more for upgrading ext & only end up with an acceptable set-up after a year or so.

So over the next couple of months I will be asking your expert help & advice on my thoughts.

    Thanks!

Welcome to TASA,first tip:make sure your tank is more than 70Litre when you buy it,a smaller tank is alot harder to maintain then a big one.

    Tank Size

    Hi,
I am looking at at tank size of 1.5m +-356L.
If I remember correctly about 15% change per week, +-55L?
My other option is a 2m 612L tank but water changes on this size about 92L?

I would suggest to get the biggest you can afford and transport. And take it from there
    I currently have a 2m

    Harties

As far as I know there's only small shop with guppies ext. But yes the best place for me is PTA mostly the wonderboom area as there are so many good shops.

On the size: What is the recommended water changes on a 600L tank?

A: 20 to 25%, but with a stable water-mass of 600L, one could get away with about 100l.
    Depending of cause how often...

Glad you joined TASA ... beesboer -what do you want to keep in your new tank? Any clue on fish, plants and all that ? I am developing the notion that tank size (LxWxH) should equal function ... and the volume is the mathematical result of that choice.

    Fish & Plants

I have the following fish in mind:
    3 clown Loaches
    2 Bala Sharks
    Gold nugget pleco
    Royal Pleco
    Ghost Knife

I like the more unique (Good looking) fish.
I had all of the above exepct for the Royal Plec before and they all co lived very well. Also looking at some plants, but don't know which yet.
    Any suggestions?
On the water changes: I believe in weekly water changes so 100L per week is a little stiff, will need to figure out how I would coupe with that.
