Yeah... MTS!!

My wife wanted a tank of her own. I got her a 900mm (l) x 400mm(h) x 500mm (w) tank.

Only bottom feeders. 2x golden ancistris
2x spotted ancistris
4x Panda cory
4x bronze cory
4x peppered cory

I thought that she need some fish to swim around that are not as shy and that people can see when they look at the tank and put in 4x small frontosa.

Filtration: 2x Eheim Pick up 2010.

Driftwood, rocks, plants and her choice of decorations. Been running for a month or so now.

I would like to give some pics but it seems as if we lost our camera's charger. But we're looking for it and will post some pics as soon as we got it.

Anybody that can recommend a good shrink for my syndrome??

Have a nice day.

Hey Lappies, Welcome to the syndrome. There are loads of suffering people on this forum!!

First thing i would do is take out the Frontosas. They are completely wrong for the rest of your tank mates, and they grow pretty big! They may harass the rest of your livestock. Possibly even kill them. Frontosas are really not suited to your other tank mates. You could replace them with some Angel Fish, or something similar.

Also, those eheims are far too small to filter your tank properly. You should really invest in something like an eheim 2215 canister filter for a tank that size.

Other than that, we look forward to seeing some pics!!

Stanning your wife loves the Hobby.

My wife also loves the bottem feeders
and angels.

about MTS
I think most shrinks will say that the sound of running water
can only do you good and the bubbels can bring a sparkel to your live.
The swiming of fish will make you move easy thru this hectic world

May you enjoy your mts stimelation for free haha lol:cool:

ENJOY:elefant:

Well... Lets see, I’ve kept tropical fish for many years now and here are a few beneficial results of our addiction...

Besides the peaceful entertainment, aquariums give us beauty in the form of a small slice of nature in a glass box. They offer creativity, designing the layout of your tank is very fulfilling. They supply you with an endless source of relaxation... (I spend numerous hours every week pottering with my tanks) ...watching fish swimming around in the tank relaxes you. There’s nothing like coming home after a stressful day and just watching the fish swim about. Tropical fish tanks have been known to reduce stress, tension, and anxiety and blood pressure. Sit in front of your aquarium on a regular basis and see if your stress level does not decrease. Many people live in flats or complexes, where it is prohibited to keep dogs or cats... An aquarium is the ideal way for you to keep pets.

I could mention a few more benefits, however, it's been about 30 minutes since I last looked at my tanks... I must potter with them a bit before letting the dogs out, locking up and getting a bit of shut-eye!

MTS -- a "disease" most of us on the forum have it!

Agree with the above - Frontosa are not suitable for your tank unfortunately. They get too big, are not compatible with your stock. And they also require hard water with a high ph.

Hi everybody.

Thank you for all the replies and advise. I appreciate it a lot.

To come back to the critics about the frontosa's. I know that they do get very big. I have a 6ft tank with a frontosa and other South and central American cichlids.
I will not keep them in my wife's tank. I will introduce them to my 6ft a little later as soon as they grew big enough not to be a snack or have the savvy to hide.

They are living in peace and harmony with the cories and the ancistrus. No problems thus far. Each one has his own hide out (territory) and they don't even bother the cories if they join them in their caves.

I was very skittish when I put them into the tank and kept a very close eye on them for three weeks. I know it sounds far fetched but they do live in peace in that tank. I will not house them there if it's going to be a massacre.

Thanks everybody for the advise about the syndrome. I feel much better now that I know that I'm not suffering alone.

Have a great evening.

Kind regards

Lappies
