    My 33 day old Redtail Notho's are spawning! :-D

    They still need to learn what the peat container is for, spawning on bare glass doesnt really work for them. These sexed out in 14 days after hatching :)

    It is normal for some of the Notho's, like the Guentheri and Eggersi, but my Patrizii Jenalle are the same age and havent even sexed out yet so some take a little longer to develop. I have actually seperated the males and females because as soon as they start to breed, the females grow much slower as they start developing eggs for spawning. Once seperated they grow faster and within a few months I should have larger females who will lay many more eggs and probably have a better chance of surving any male aggression.

    They are now 7 weeks old and spawning like mad, I was recently given the collection code for these so they are not classified as aquarium strain :)
