    Hi all,

As the subject suggests, I am a newbie, both to fish keeping and the forum and I can be found geographically in The Big Smoke a.k.a. Jo'burg.

Since I can remember, I have always loved watching tropical fish in tanks and recently I have been lucky enough to start keeping my own. My dream has always been to have a Tetra tank and I now have a little 30l with a variety of Tetras and Danios... which became very small, very quickly and tank number 2 is under construction.

I am totally addicted, so much so that payday needs to come VERY quickly. And I am here, hoping to learn new things from others' experience.

    :)

Hi Janine. Welcome to TASA. What tetras and danios do you have?

    Thanks, Jenn.

    Currently, in my tank:
    3 x Neons
    3 x Rummynoses
    3 x Red Eyes
    3 x Zebra Danios
    1 x Leopard Danio
    4 x White Cloud Minnows.

I am planning on relocating this happy little family to my 2ft tank and increasing each species to at least six of each... and maybe getting some Glowlights... and Penguins... and, and, and.

My significant other has two tanks - the one contains two very grumpy upside down catfish which we were given by a friend - Shrek and Jessie. It's a long story but we were acting as a halfway house but the new owner didn't realise that these were rather LARGE catfish so we got to keep them. Currently we have an African Black Knife Fish who lives with them (Mac, short for MacGuyver).

His other tank is a mix of African cichlids.

I see photies are welcome, I will post some as soon as I have sorted through the pile. :smile1:

hi and welcome, u will do well to increase to 6of each but make sure you dont overcrowd, if you can upgrade to a 3 foot rather than a 2 foot. enjoy and keep posting :)

Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone.

And thank you for the advice, Ammar. I have been lucky in that I have managed to get small fish to go in my baby tank. And I was given the 2ft tank as a hand me down. I'm going to use that in the meantime and more than likely move to something bigger in the near future. :)

My 2fter is 'under construction' and should hopefully be running by this weekend.

I tried posting photos but they look odd. I'll give it another try soon.
