    Hi, my name is Elandre.

I am new to this site and my biggest hobby will be breeding tropical fish. Please bare with me if I ask silly questions.
I am not so new to aquariums but it is always good to get advice. I've only bred with guppies before (not much of a wow) and now I am moving on and need help.

    Kind Regards

    Hello and welcome to TASA

    What are you currently stocking?

If you are going to breed, how many tanks do you have ready and what volume is each?

I am stocking bala sharks, red tail sharks, blood parrot chiclids, malawi chiclids. I have three 100L tanks.

    Hi,
    And welcome to the Forum.

I don't want to damped your enthusiasm, but those fish will get way too big for 100L tanks.
Bala's can get up to 30cm.
    Malawis 10cm+ depending on species.
Sharks and parrots get fairly big too.

Are you planning on upgrading soon?

Yes. I am getting a 2m tank in about two months time (if all plans work out). What size tank would you reccomend?

With @Reedfish on this. Balla's get grow to 30+ cm's and they tend to require lots of swimming space as they are very active fish, I have seen some fish with missing eyes because they swam into some decore or got a fright. @E&C_Aquariums: a 2 meter tank should be more than enough for them though.

Do you have those fish in one tank?

Why I ask is that you cannot keep the parrot or bala with the Malawi Cichlids. The cichlids will harass them to death.

Nope sorry. I've kept them before. It all depends on the personality of the fish. They were put in the tank when they were the same size.

Yeah understandable, however when cichlids, especially malawi cichlids, mature they become very territorial. But again it is dependant on the species of Malawis. Good luck though, just wanted to give my 2c worth.
