Firstly thanks to Donny for the NEW tank.... :)
and Guido for transporting and giving me great advice.

TANK SIZE 1,8 x 800 x 800

SUMP = 182L
TANK = 1152L
Combined = 1334L

So here goes the idea with progress pictures below (Should be an Interesting build)

1) Position the tank in Place in the garage (will be its final resting place with a twist)

2) remove paint from back of tank as this is going to be an in the wall tank - looking through from the kitchen.

3) Clean Tank, fittings & Fixtures - re silicone the plumbing for the sump (it has an in and out hole)

4) Do a test fill / check for leaks

5) Coming soon ... Cut Hole through wall into Kitchen - if you look at the picture below you will see the big red block will be cut out and inside that wall is my kitchen... (Guido please help)

6) Install Lintel and Move tank into wall cavity - The sump and stand will then sit in the garage

Looks like a mess so far - but watch this space!!!

Hi D
Great pleasure!!! (-:
Will pop by, maybe even tomorrow to have a quick look at the wall and tank
Remember that you have to change the stand slighty, ( new wholes and shortened metal frame).
I guess you tested the "plumbing" silicon and its all fine and no leaks:eek:

That would be great - give me a sms or call....

and you won't believe I tightened the plumbing slightly on the right and NOW no leaks only using those washers

Put 5 cm of water in on Sunday and has not lost a drop :)

BUT I think I'm going to silicone anyway - I think safer in the long run....

This will be a super thread to follow. Being the builder... I'm looking forward to seeing the part where you knock the hole in the wall. That's always the "fun" part... and putting in that lintel.

Um... I've got some "bad" news for you. When you put a lintel in... I'm assuming it's a 2.1m lintel... you need to prop it in the middle to hold it up whilst the dagga dries. The "bad" news is you should prop it for 14 days... but because you not building above the lintel, prop it for 7 days. Then plaster. (If you remove the prop too early, you stand the chance of cracks between the new lintel and existing brickwork.

Yes... I also wouldn't trade that car in for a bakkie. (Unless maybe the new chevvy bakkie! which I personally saw take a subaru apart on the drag straight last year! HEHE)

I know this is a bit off topic- but I'm sure a lot of the other members would be interested too... what it the reason behind every Subaru Owner spoiling their absolutely magnificent car with all those vinyls? Does it make the car faster? Does it make the driver feel like a racing car driver? Or is it just the Subaru Culture?

Regards

Lol and Lol...

Ok here goes - Luckily Guido (not only a ZOO keeper but also built half my house - did a custom lintel for my garage - spans 5 meters (so I thnk we can handle 2 m :)

For the car - Not sure if people will understand this - but I'm just having a laugh... (and not to forget my car is pretty pimped out - upgraded etc etc etc )

Kids love the stickers - they thinks it's playsattion in real life!

Anyone part of the Scooby Club?

I always thought subarus came with the stickers...

Watching this thread. I'm planning on doing a 2m x 600 x 600, much less water volume though.

Not really. Henk's tank is probably closer in size to yours. 2.5 x 800 x 800.
