Hi everyone new to the forum ,
Currently have a 170 l tank, stocked with 2 bala sharks , 2 plecostomus and unfortunately 3 out of the 10 barbs left 2x tiger 1x green.
Love the hobby so far all I wanted to do was fiddle with my tanks until I finally realized this was a bad idea .
Thanks for all the great info on the forum and look forward to chatting to everyone more as I progress more into the hobby.

    Hi @Shondor

    Welcome to the forum
Tank looks very nice, well done

Sorry you lost some of the barbs.. never nice when that happens
You going to have to keep an eye on the plecostumus, I am assuming it's the common ones which get huge and need a very big tank in a short while as well as produce a lot of waste
Maybe do some reading up on them and consider swiping them for some bristlenose plecos which are very cute and stay much smaller

    It's a pleasure
Zebra plecos are stunning and dont get that big but a miracle if you can find any and price as far as I know is around 1k plus, unless someone is breeding them locally that I dont know about
You also get the green and blue phantom but also not cheap
You can also consider some of the smaller catfish or a school of curries
They stay fairly small and there are many stunning varieties
I see @DoubleDutch has just posted on his thread " multiple tank syndrome" have a look through that and his stunning collection of corries

Ooh yes, corys (corydora catfish) are fantastic and mostly bottom dwelling. Just check your substrate- if the gravel has sharp edges it will hurt there barbels , cause serious infection etc. Smooth gravel or a sand (eg pool filter sand) would be well suited.
