New to Fishkeeping

    Number of Years in Hobby: 1 month

    Fishkeeping Profile: I am entirely new to fishkeeping. It is something that I have wanted to try for many years and have finally taken the plunge (I'm all about cheap wordplay). I started a planted tank about a month ago and and currently have it stocked with small communities of Red Eye Tetra, Neon Tetra, Zebra Danio, and a single otocinclus (LFS is out of stock so I am unable to get a companion for it right away). Photographs will follow soon.

    Favourite fish species: I have no idea yet.

    Favourite LFS: Pet-a-Pond, Die Wilgers

    Aquatic Likes: Watching a thriving tank with healthy inhabitants.

    Aquatic Dislikes: Fish retailers that have no clue what they are selling.

    Aquatic Achievements: Does starting a first tank count? It feels like one.

    Non-fish related fact: I am a very big fan of Bollywood films.

    Other Hobbies: Gardening, reading, learning languages.

    Long overdue but here it is - my 30l aquarium stocked with 4 Zebra Danios, 4 Redeye Tetras and 6 Neon Tetras. It is my first one and it has been running for roughly 8 weeks. Do mind the lockdown provisions in the background. Fish.jpg

    Plants are looking super healthy. I love zebra danios, very underrated fish!

    Thanks. Zebra Danios are are great fish but they did pick off one of their own kind when they spotted some weakness so I am keeping a close a close eye on them.

    Thanks! It is a DIY mix recommended by a super helpful guy at my LFS. It is a mix of 50% Canadian peat moss, 50% Ccco peat and some hydroponic fertilizer as per package instructions. It is sealed with a cap of black diamond blasting sand.
