eesa, if you don't mind I would just like to ask your age? Just for some background knowledge..

Like the others clearly stated.. Going head straight into discus without extended knowledge is a big mistake. Look I'm speaking from personal experiences.. They were my first fish, didn't have a clue about what I was doing and by the time I found TASA it was too late. My discus were stunted, they were unhappy, and basically caused my "retirement" from the fish keeping hobby.

They are really appealing and attractive but require some knowledge. Please consider what were trying to tell you, before it's too late.

No hard feelings, and may your fish keeping addiction continue without problems!

    Regards,
    Matt.

If you want info PM/chat to altum or myself I have plenty of books you can borrow on discus , don't worry your tank will be fine for them for a while still but you may need to lessen the flow in the tank as well as dim a light but that's easy to do , being in the strand your tap water should be fine as is , let it sit in the sun for a day - sunlight neutralises chlorine , if you really worried get a stocking full of peat pellets and hang it in the bucket that way you got good water to do water changes with . REMEMBER most of what you read about discus applies to Europe and USA with poor water quality and wild caught /first generation fish. Don't stress the fish once they in the tank try to keep the lighting to a min , natural light during morning and the day , artificial light at night till you go sleep ,I take it you not trying for a plant tank as well as discus so bright lights are not an issue for now ? Watch what bottom dwelling fish you add nothing too active maybe a few small bronze corydoras etc GOOD LUCK !!

7 is fine. Lower would better but you risk really loosing control of the pH if you try and drop it.
