hey guys so the new tank is setup and its not looking too bad, the plants are getting sorta enough light from the two windows and direct sunlight for about 1hr to 2hr in the late afternoon but ill be getting the globes at the end of the month. i have noticed however that my tank is now getting a greenish tinge to the water, some sort of algae? my fish are having a jol lol and iv put my apple snail in there as well as i found the guppy fry where bugging her. i think she'l be ok as long as theres enough lettuce and fish food for her, then she should stay away from my plants.... i hope

I would believe that the green tinge is algea... and is due to the direct sunlight.

Agreed, in my experience, wheresoever the sunlight falls, algae grows!

All my tanks gets 1+ hours direct sunlight every day and no green water.
Do weekly water changes and wait for the plants to grow in.

sunlight will cause the algae to grow if there is an abundance or nutirents. ie nitrates

Will the purigen also absorb the plant nutrients?

will clear up and polich the water making clear and sparkly. it will also absorb some of the organic conponents befor the breakdown into ammonia. i run purigen in all my tanks.
