    hi All,

So after a visit to family, I managed to get a new tank. The tank was unfortunately half and half, the tank mates appeared to be swimming around aimlessly and as such, couldn't see through the glass.
After scouring a few hardware stores, I managed to get hold of so Spirits of Salt... man oh man... those things sizzle... got all of the mineral grime off the glass and tank went from old and gloomy to lively and now missing some colour methinks.

    Inhabitants upon adoption:
    Siamese Algae Eater(ganster...)
    Red Tail Shark(ganster...)
    Angelfish (ganster...)

    Immigrants
    8x Giant Dianios
    5x Cardinals
    3x Pepper Corys
    2x Ottocinclus
    2x Sinodontis

    Pics and Vids to follow

P.s I'm thinking its missing red, a fluorescent color or something to break the green

At the start - just before I added LED Lighting to the tank as you may be able to see from the vids up next

    IMG-20190528-WA0022.jpg
Post LED upgrades - heres where colours come into play... this was prior to the Giant Danios - I was looking for fish that schooled.
The LEDs that I used were white, blue and red... the Danios in the store appeared silvery, reminded me of the way sardine school... my brainwave of using red and blue, made them show the yellow horizontal stripe with dots. Although I dont particularly like it, i do still see the silver flashes that sold me at the pet store.lol

So... something is missing... vids up next hopefully

Shark trying to be Jaws.... the Danios love it cos I see them darting back and forth almost trying to get him to chase them... and a short clip showing where I wanted the activity in the tank. Since adding the Danios - the Cardinals have moved up towards the front, breaking the green but still i need some more color...
Im looking at adding the following... Chilli Rasboras / Ember Tetras.... thoughts?

If that was my tank I would get rid of Jaws, as they grow large and are generally bullies.
Chilli Rasbora are shy fish, and you won't see them much with all the activity in the tank.

I adopted him... i have thought about humanely disposing of him, clove oil and a small prayer but i'm an animal lover and I cant even see myself letting him go. In fact, I would probably shed a tear if he did die. About the bully... he does try and he has managed to corrupt the angelfish. the reason for the ganster bit...

Interesting info... shark and AE chase each other for territory, I've seen the the AE body shove him into submission, after which he disappears then comes back after a while. Shark doesnt worry with anyone else, except Angelfish. He is a mid sized lil ganster... Ive seen him face bump shark so now, Angel is like the untouchable. Re the Danios, they appear playful towards him, he chases, they swim off, turn around, chase him in a group and this sometimes goes on for a while before they retire to the upper reaches of the tank. The 3 of them came with the tank and dont both anyone else. Which is also why I dont have the heart to let him go.lol

Chillis are the missing deep red, will they not try school with Cardinals? The Cardinals have decided to hang around the VW, like a drive in scene...
I was contemplating Neon Tetras but I feel they may cheapen the look.

How big is this tank? It's hard but don't overpopulate your tank. In a tank like that this is what I would do:

Replace the background with a solid blue or black. If the plants are real get them ID'd and place them accordingly.ie small in the front, large at the back. If they are fake throw them away ;). Maybe look at vallis across the back. Tie some ferns or Anubias onto the wood. Push the wood into your gravel rather than "floating" on top. Add some crypts to the floor.

Go with schooling fish like harlequin/lambchop rasbora with cardinals/neons. A few panda corydoras and a small bristlenose ancistrus (female).

    @Rust_ee ..

I agree with @Hawk... good advice there

No one can tell you what to do but in the same token, you asked for advice so..
Unless the photo is deceiving, the tank looks fairly small and if i am right you will eventually either need a bigger tank or let the shark and algae eater go as they are going to very soon outgrow the tank
Also, dont be fooled by the sharks "playful" behavior, it gets nastier as they grow.
I have in the past had to take two back to the LFS as eventually they harass the other fish so much that they land up killing them so, rather now than when you get more attached to it
The fish @Hawk has suggested are perfect though i must admit i love the galaxy/red rasboras as well

    Just my opinion..

You have done well with the tank.
    It looks good.

I would get rid of the "gangster" crowd (take them back the lfs and see if they will do a swap). They are aggressive and not really compatible with the rest of what you have in there.
@Hawk has made some good suggestions with regards to some alternative fish to keep

Its about +- 150l of water./ At work now so dimensions unknown. Basically, I feel like if the fish wanted to go Piranha on me, they'd have a whole arm in.lol
I agree with the background, its a lil offish, going to be getting some rubber paint and spray it black, easy to remove if necessary. Also i was sitting the other night and thinking how easy it would be to overpopulate the tank, so im definitely treading carefully on this front.

True true, yes... eventually, they will have to go, if not sooner. Thanks for that bit. Forgot to mention, pandas... I got 2 initially and unfortunately didnt make it. I suspect water parameters and of course the Gang but i haven't changed much except for adding a lil Seachem flourish in to help with plants and the pepper corys I got after appear ok. no issues. My ottos are also ok, though I heard they're rather finicky.

Thanks very much to all - I tried to make it good :)
I wish i could take em back, unfortunately, they're 2 years into their tank tenure - got them with the tank from a family member. Methinks I should post a swap for them. Any ideas as to what they would be worth?

    @Rust_ee
As @Hawk says, the fish shop should take them from you.
Hopefully they will give you some sort of credit in return. But if not, at least they won't be in your tank causing chaos.

they have settled down yes - i love these Danios - its like a freshwater tuna.lol - feeding times are most satisfying lmao

Thanks all for the feedback, with a heavy heart I am going to take them both out and look at rehoming - another family member with a larger tank offered to take the 2.
