New tank, ideas needed

Okay, so I have just finished putting together a new tank. Bought it off Gumtree for R50 with a broken bottom. Paid R55 for a new 6mm glass bottom, stripped it and reglued it with clear silicone.

I decided to go with the thicker base because one never knows what the tank might contain once up.

My wife wants to propagate sweet potato with this tank and have a Betta swimming around underneath. Any pictures of your sweet potato tanks are welcome

The tank measures 470mm long x 215mm wide x 300mm deep.

This is the other idea. The one on the right is my daughter's tank with Sword fry (growing at a rapid pace) and the tank on the left is the tank I built last night. Thinking about having a bigger grow out tank for her. I've been given a lid with light fitting etc.

May be a better idea for the tough crowd here

I definitely think those babies are going to soon need a bigger grow out tank.

 

So I decided to rather give my daughter the 47cm tank and we will decide what to do with the 1 foot. I've removed the undergravel filter and have added a sponge filter with carbon in the center pocket.

Think my daughter will be happy with the change?

 

I'm kick starting it with Stability, so hopefully all goes well. If push comes to shove, I'll keep the baby swords in the display tank in a breeding net for now
