Just add some extra red LEDs or even better there's a guy on MASA that can build you a custom light, let me know if you're interested and I'll PM you his contact.

I'm sure it will be fine though, isn't @Cesar tank also like that??
Good luck though I'm sure it will be fine

I Hope you won't have to add them later that sounds like a lot of work. :(

Just generally because of the wasted space. Rays need a fair amount, and depending on the filter might cause hassles to their swimming patterns.

I will probably add some extra reds

Yes and no, @Cesar has the Zetlight 6600, coulour combination is very different
The 6600 has a lot of red.. green.. violet, orange
These new ones are very blue aand white with only a little "red" which is not even properly red even at the highest red setting

Yes thanks, if you dont mind pm me his details

    Ok....
I hear 'sort of' what you mean but I am not sure if you have ever kept adult rays or if we talking about the same internal filters
Yes you right in that the rays need a lot of swimming space however the size tanks we built cater for that even with the internal filters as, the filters actually only take up about 10cm

The filters dont interfere with their swimming patterns at all.

    Let me explain
Rays need excellent filtration but... ray poops is very big and a solid compact consistency which makes it very heavy and difficult to lift off the floor and into your overflow at the top
So you have to fine tune your current and you have to have wave makers as well to best achieve this so it lifts not only poop but uneaten/ chewed food bearing in mind you feeding fairly heavy pieces of fish.. prawn.. mussel

Now your internal filters have 5 or 6 holes starting at the bottom all the way up the water column so the debris is being sucked into the filter not only when it gets to the top of the overflow but also at different heights in the water column
The filter doesnt interfere with their swimming at all and it works very hard
Hence why i said that i hope im not going to regret not doing one on the opposite side of the overflow
But time will tell and if i pick up a problem, James will come to the rescue, as i know you can add them on afterwards

Both the tanks below have internal filters

That does make sense. I guess I am one of those who only has experience with the cheaper "monster" filters that tend to take up a lot more space. Sadly, when I had the space for bigger tanks I really didn't have the budget to do what I wanted to and my folks weren't helping me at all, I think it was their way of trying to limit me from taking over the whole house haha

If built with the tank, internal filters are actually very neat and you dont even see them unlike the unsightly internal filters we used years ago

Hehhe taking up the whole house sounds great... I dont think i can fit another one in my lounge.. its now pretty full!!!

    So... small update..

Tested my water last night, at day 6 of Stability and i had zero ammonia... zero nitrate but my Nitrite is 1mg

Did a good waterchange today and added another 2 bags of seeded media from Polkadot's tank

I will probably get 2 or 3 Tinfoils or something and throw them in with the other fish
The 4 fish are doing great though and my Gar has eaten the last 2 nights which is unusual for them when moved

Guess i need to keep the Stability up for a little longer

I have stopped the Stability at this stage and all good

Will now wait another week or so and then add Pretty Face as she had her babies on Christmas day too so she can move across

Will add Stability again for a day or two with each ray that gets moved across

    Thanks...

Cant wait myself to move the girls across but rather wait a week or so for the bacteria to catch up after Spooky and also for Pretty Face to recover and start eating after the babies before stressing her out and netting her
Besides.... I have to wait for @Cesar... no way I can move those monsters myself

We were actually very surprised with Spooky as we thought all hell would break lose moving her but she was actually very chilled and my lounge didnt even flood
