I am looking at setting up 3x1.2's and 2x1.0's tanks.
They will all be more or less next to each other as part of a small fish room.
I have so far a tetra and crystal flow for 2 of the tanks.
I was thinking of going with a small air compressor and sponge filters, what make would you recommend ?

At the scale you're working at, the only compressor brand I've worked with is Hailea, and in my experience they're a good brand without too many issues. I'd do some research beforehand about how many litres/minute you'd need, since you don't want to fall short of your requirements, nor do you want to dish out a few thousand for something that's simply overkill (although it does make an excuse for more setups :tt2:).

Thanks for the feedback, so far in CapeTown i have only seen BOYU air compressors, maybe i should look harder.
For the amount of space i have i am pretty much at max for amount of tanks, maybe another 1.2 would fit. LOL

What will you be keeping in these tanks? That's a big factor for filtration

1 x 1.2 will have the crystal flow (live bearers and mix)
2 x 1.2 this will just run on sponge filters (live bearers)
1 x 1.0 meter tank (60 high and 50 wide) will have silver dollars in again they get the tetra pump they had before (airstone to be added)
1 x 1.0 no sure (most likely community tank)

I would like to run atleast 1 long airstone in each 1m tank and 2 airstones in eash 1.2 with sponge filters, want the tanks to look nice wont be breeding to sell.

Oops read that as a 3 meter by 1.2 tank and was wondering why you refer to them as smallo_O

Depending if you want to do shipping or not, @JungleAquatics sells them for the cheapest I've seen so far. Free shipping if you're buying one of the bigger models. Otherwise I see there are offers on TakeAlot (sourced a little closer, in Cape Town), that sell the same Hailea models for a bit more.

Why not build the tanks yourself? Save some $$ for the electricity bill
