Neons.... You going to need all the fish shops in a 50KM radius to sell you all they have
He's putting Crumpet in there, she's a freshwater stingray

    so um i f$%@ed up
while doing the pipe work i over tighten the bulk head and cracked the nut holding the one side inlet.
had to drain tank totally cut out overflow box replace the offending nut and now start the whole process of waiting for silicon to dry again.
first test fill will be Tuesday eveing

    Oh no.... sorry to hear...
I can imagine how you feel because I would have been devastated myself but as Reedfish said, at least there were no fish in the tank yet
I will never forget when we filled my tank, I got to the lounge the next morning and it was flooded.. well... I just burst into tears ...
Look everywhere and i cant find a leak...
Phone Cesar in tears... he comes down.... only to find he had been putting the air pipe in but didnt cut it and had forgoten the role of pipe next to the tank on the floor and.. gravity did the rest...
We had a good laugh with relief but I know how i felt when i first thought there was something wrong with the tank!!

Glad the builder could help straight away at least you dont have to wait so long

hahahaha @MariaS all i can do is laugh, remember reading that story when you posted it.
always seems to be the small things that we overlook.
guess i am just to used to steal pipe work and can believe how easy the nut broke, did not even tie it that tight from memory, strange thing is that is took 5 days to start dripping.
getting james 1 day after discovering the leak really was a blessing

@top dog, it could have also been a weak/ faulty nut that couldnt take the pressure?
Especially if it only leaked 5 days later...

    Sounds positive.
Did you spend a lot of time with the tank on the weekend?
Definitely need to do something about the humidity issues

weather was terrible most of my family was away so had a lot of spare time to get things going. was finally able to apply time it needed.
the moving bed part of the filter gave me some grey hairs but seem to finally have it working to a okay level. not perfect but working.
hoping to move madam crumpet over on Sunday if i am able to figure out way to transport full sheet of polycarb double wall sheet.

Always wonder when I see this - is that single bolt and thread really as strong as the rest of the leg? What part is over engineered the entire leg or the bolt and thread that now takes the full point load.

    Later Ferdie

Used high tensile m16 bolts in case believe 5 ton per bolt so should be safe
Had to do it as I needed frame to fit threw door and be tall enough for sump. Ie need to raise frame by 85mm

Where does one get 5 ton bolts? Did you buy them at the local hardware store?

    Just some update pics
Did covers Not the neatest but siliconed the edges so they do not full with water and they fit snugly into holes left in braces.
Pick of moving media that I am using a pump to circulate, working well but quite a bit of it is sticking to pump inlet but not effecting flow of pump

Will double check with my draftman who got them for me. That is a sheer weight I believe they call it.
It is what I do for a living work in food process engineering so I build stuff out of stainless steel every day
