    Hi everyone

where to begin with an introduction?

I'm 16 years old for 3 more months and decided to start fish keeping when my brother gave me his tank,i'm not sure what fish i have but after a bit of googling i think i have 3 convicts and 2 jewel cichlid.

I will be geting another 5 tank each between 100-500 litre at the end of the week, they are all second hand and they come with livestock.(breeding convicts and 2 oscars)

I joined to forum to get het help on how to look after these new family pets
and to learn all i can about tropical fish keeping.

Welcome. Most people have internet at work, so ironically it's more active during working hours. Or maybe I'm mistaken, who knows....

Tried those batteries, they are the same size but they don't work on the camera.Only the green rechargeable ones work on it.

OOPS, sorry. Forgot they take high powered type. Mine has one of those special type batteries that looks like a cell phone battery and Im not used to penlights in cameras so excuse my ignorance bud!! Maybe try hooking it up to the car battery if you have a long enough cord :)

lol,i think a car battery might be too powerfull.
I have a small RC bait boat battery but my camera only takes batteries which are small enough to fit into it's slot.:)

I will have to go buy new ones with a recharger.

lol,i blame my camera when i get bad results XD,I can't find the settings to change the zoom quality cause everytime i take a pic it's blurry.

I like your tank,it's a very different design from others people's tanks.
Will be reading up on your thread.

    I think i lol too much.

Angels are not hard to keep at all, they make really nice fish even for someone starting out, as long as you follow a few simple guide lines. Their water quality needs to be good, slightly acidic and they are quite easy to breed. Start off by getting a few youngsters to make sure you dont have only 2 males or 2 females, let them grow up together and they will pair off once they reach maturity. They grow up pretty quickly and are such nice fish to keep, a very interesting breed of fish and lots of different types available these days.

I think water quality was a problem in the past,I heard someone on the forum mention that they keep eating their eggs,is this because of stress or do they see their eggs as food?

It can sometimes be, but it could also be that they are inexperienced parents and need a bit of practice. Generally some people just let them keep trying and get it right after a few tries. I dont think its so much about the eggs as food. I stand for correction.
