The Tropica Premium Fertilizer is a fantastic TRACE Element mix. You are not dosing any Nitrates or Phosphates, but if you are feeding your fish heavily, they are producing those for you. But you could try the Tropica Specialized Fertilizer as it contains all the stuff in the Premium, but with Added Nitrates and Phosphates.

The Tropica Premium contains a lot of iron and the traces. It is possibly the best trace mix on the market. I'm not just saying that.

@hein24 - I did a good clean yesterday with my WC... will take a close up of the algae when I see some.

@Sean J - I was told initially that the tropical fertiliser is an all in one that would replace all the the other fertilisers I have so that I can only have one bottle I need to use.

But as mentioned by @HennieRoux that may not be enough?

I will go get some Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium tomorrow.

So do I keep dosing Iron with the Tropica ferts?

Also, with increasing my lights to 8 hours, do I add back the other 2 t5 tubes?

The Tropica Specialized Fertilizer (Green Bottle) is a complete, all in one solution containing everything you need to grow plants. The Tropica Premium Fertilizer is a complet Trace element mix as it does not contain Nitrates or Phosphates.

Check this link to my write up on the Tropica Fertilizer Products: Tropica Plant Care Fertilizer Range info

Yes, I spread the dosage over the week. I split it into 3rds and dose Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Water change Sunday. Also, start off with half the recommended dose and increase it as your plants grow in. Dorry Pets does stock it, yes.

If you are dosing EI, I recommend the Premium Fertilizer, as it is a fantastic trace element. Also, Tropica Products are extremely economical. The 300ml Bottle will last for a long time on a 100L system. More than half a year, in fact.

Much cheaper. It's only 1 bottle, not 6. Loolilocks and Dorry Pets have stock.

    Looking great!

I think it needs some rock, like a mini stone henge would look awesome in this tank with some willow moss hanging off the vertical rocks.

    Hi All,

I will be getting the stand for the tank tomorrow and setting up the tank.

Quick question though... Should I add Co2 from the start?

    Regards,
    Ernst

YES!! Plants can't photosynthesize without it.

    Hi All,

So the day has finally arrived!

I went to collect my stand today ;D and man am I impressed.

So this is the layout that I am going for :

Here is a pic of the tank on the stand before setup:

    Closeup before planting:

Quick photo of the inside of the stand:

Then a photo of after planting:

The only problems I had was planting the UG. So you plant it all after the substrate has been moistened... then comes the filling the tank and guess what... the UG starts floating everywhere! :violent1:

So after multiple replanting it seems to stay down now.

I kicked off the Tropica app on my phone and will be using that to see how it works. ;D
