That does not look fully submersed :)

Do you boil your wood to remove the tanins(hope I spelled it correctly)

It is fully submersed now... It had to absorb some of the water first.

Nope, no boiling water. I can remember reading somewhere on the forum that you do not want to boil it as it will create "soft" spots on the wood that will rot faster.... (If memory serves...)

    Hi all,

I am currently struggling a bit with algae in my tank... So I think I might have to much light?

    I am running 4 x 25W T5 lights where 2 of them are 6500K and the other 2 are 8000K.

I have removed one 6500K and one 8000K to see if it helps.

My Co2 comes on at 12:00 and off at 18:00. Lights on at 13:00 and off at 19:00.

    Is it too much light?

I am currently dosing Tropica Plant Growth Premium Fertiliser at the recommended dosage as well as Seachem Excel and Seachem Iron 3 times a week at 2ml each.

No do not cut lighting, you are only running 6 hours, increase to 8 hours...you are not dosing enough micros here, iron excel is not enough! What about the ballance of the micros? Without the ballance of the micro nutrients your plants will not do as well, and thats why you are getting algae.

You are using seachem range, so this is what you need
Nitrogen

Phosphorus

    Potassium

Dont increase your ferts, use as directed, but get all these as without it you are doomed!:viking:
