Hi All, Just started with my own fish tank now, still very new at this. just got my malawi's today in my tank and hoping to learn the ins and outs of keeping a good healthy aquarium.
Hi @Louis102. Welcome to TASA! Hope you cycled your tank first before adding all the malawis. If not - get yourself some Microbe Life Special Blend, or Seachem Stability to help cycle the tank.
Here is a pic of the tank. Starting of small. 10 x malawis all of them still small. 2 x algae eaters 65 litre tank. filter pumps 700l/h. Just a few questions??? How do you calculate if your pump is sufficient for the size tank? How to calculate the number of fish that can go in your tank? Will Malawis eat plecostomus?
There is no real calculation for pump vs number of fish really, just a rule of thumb that a bigger filter allows more fish (tank dependent). Add fish in a manner that they can co-exist peacefully.Small tank =small fish usually. Try and work it that each fish will have so many liters of water. The malawis "should" be OK with the pleco
