    Geez --> Bit of an advancement from my days of airstone,2l icecream tub and a desk study lamp... Does anyone in SA stock/sell this?

    Nope. . it's available online . . but designing one that anyone can DIY for under R40.

    I know someone from SA who actually has one.

    Someone suggested I use a 2 section lunch box and paint half black and leave the other clear . . and drill a hole in the partition. Thereafter, scoop in some BS eggs and close it up . .

    In theory . . the BS should be attracted to the light and swim out of the painted side and into the hatching area.

    My DIY will be based in the light theory and the fact that BLACK absorbs light and heat better but no lunch box.

    Yip, Slagter had one and paid like R300 or something for the thing.
    Check our DIY section and you will find a DIY build for this.

    Checked out your DIY . . .I had a similar idea. . but totally different at the same time . .

    Will post DIY tomorrow . . have to go buy myself some black spray paint.

    heheh . .actually just finish paint the hatchery black . . .I will post a DIY later this evening. . yet another wedding to photograph today . .

    Looking good but I used a whole can of spray paint but still not light tight . . so Will have to go buy another can now. .
