new fish

ok guys im getting new fish.i wanna get 2 oscars.I wanna know if they can go with clown loaches, bala sharks and black ghost knifes.All of these fish i have but are relatively small.I was also planing on getting a synodontis cat and maybe another large cichlid.

Oscars, bear in mind, are large, predatory fish and at times can be aggressive too. That being said, they get on fine with equally large (or larger) tankmates. Large clown loaches and bala sharks can work as tankmates, provided that a lot of space is given for the fish to spread themselves out. The black ghost knifefish isn't a good idea, primarily because of it's "delicate" and shy nature. It will easily get bullied out of food.

Synodontis can make good tankmates for Oscars if you get the right species. Both Synodontis eupterus and S. notatus get to fair sizes, making them among the more ideal fish to choose. The Asian upside down catfish, Mystus leucophasis, is somewhat similar to Synodontis in their upside-down behaviour, but can be very territorial - this, I believe, makes them a good choice as a fish to put among Oscars. They also attain a decent size of roughly 30cm.

I wouldn't get another cichlid in the tank with 2 Oscars, because there simply is not enough room.
