    Hi Tasa,

Since im starting with an new area where my fish would be housed. I might aswell start an progress log for my self and maybe get some advice along the way.

The old fish room was an separate flat that was empty and started with 12 tanks. Im up to 50 tanks mostly small but every one counts.
The plan is to automate a few things.

Ile post pics as i go along.

    Thanks Barry

Nice. Only 50? I'm sure if you double stack then you can double the number of tanks. We are waiting for the pictures of the big move.

It will probably more cost effective to insulate the room and then heat the room itself. Rather than have individual heaters in 50 tanks.

I use sumps and air, with an fair sized compessor. So tanks without sumps i have sponge filters and the old trusty undergravel filters. There is no plans to insulate atm as i want more air flow. Insulation is great but the issue in the flat is mould so im afaid it may build up behind the insulation. Heating i use an heater per tank its easier to control different environments and species. Atm with cold weather the tanks without heating is sitting at 20deg.

I am considering an aircon unit but atm im keeping the ambient temp up without trying with normal heating. 3fts are running with 100w heaters and seldom come on. The plan is to add an few larger volme tanks 4ft and above to keep the temps for longer.

Currently im trying air circulation with small extractor fans. But the area isnt ideal the new room/garrage will be one open space.

There was some progress, the 3m stand/2.99m has been touched up thanks to Richard . 4x 3ft tanks are running on an 3ft sump. Another 2x 3fts have water in. And 4x plug points are wired in and working. The db will have to wait as i could not find what i needed today. DSC_0048.JPG

Plug points installed high and cable trunking will be added.

Tanks aren't pretty but the hold water and fish.

    Looking good @Barry Roux

I also think that once all the tanks are in, including the bigger ones, the volume of water will go a long way in keeping temps stable

Looking good @Barry Roux. I just love the idea of the plug points being so high. At least you won't be running around like me when you flood the fish room while hoping the water doesn't bite you.
