New additions to the show tank

Hi all,

So how do you repay your new son in law after he asked for your daughter's hand in marriage? Well with a pair of German Blue Rams of course :bigsmile:

See below my latest additions (Sponsored by my future father in law) to the show tank.

My favourite fish of all time. Currently trying to get a breeding pair going myself but need more
Females for my male.
Next would be a pair of neon blue ones from Dolphin.

 

Schalkv710 I'm not sure where he got them from but I believe he might have imported them, but I'm sure Dolphin can arrange some for you. In the mean time I will try to get them to breed and should I succeed I will give you a pair.

Vis I'm really not sure as this is the first time I'm keeping rams but it is supposed to be a breeding pair. How you do distinct one from another?

 

Female fins are rounded,on the male the second ray,black ones, are extended,the female have that blue haze,dots inside and over her black spot and the male would have a solid black dot maybe with some
bleu just around the edge of the black dot.

O and the female have a slight pink belly that will go almost red at breeding time.

Well as you see in the first pic this is probably the male and in the second one the female with her pinkish sheen on her belly.

 

That's a good start Like some other chiclids the best way to get a breeding pair is to
have a few of them together and they pair off by themselves. They would then stick to that partner.
I have read that if you put a male and female together eventually they will breed but it is no
guarentee,but you were given a breeding pair so let's hope for the best.

 

If you think they look good now, just wait until they start spawning.
The colors are even more intense .

wimpy as far s i know you have a male and female! these fish often pair up for life! I love them! i hope you sucseed in breeding them then you can give me some tips! Also i can"t take fish like that for free! I am willing to pay good money for a pair! Yours are realy stuning! Sure the fry wil be amazing!
