Just saw these while admiring the growth of my Rotala!

    DSC_4358.jpg

Sorry, I don't have a macro lens so I cropped the pic as much as I could.

These aren't the wrath of snails!! My tank has been running for just over 2 months. Plants have been washed thoroughly. Its the first time I've seen anything like it! They do move around like newly hatched snails....but they're white???

    Please ID someone

    Don't panic, my china,

They look like perfectly harmless planarians, they don't damage the fish or the plants. They come in with the plants and they sort of glide along on the glass. They eat excess food and the sort of food and slime layer at the waterline on the glass. They sort of flare up in numbers and then subside again. Put an angel in the tank and do not feed him for a few days and he will eat the whole lot.

So don't panic mechanic, sit down and have a beer in front of your tank and relax looking at your fishes...

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

PS, you other guys should be ashamed of putting the man under such stress before the weekend, shame man........

Hahah... Thank you professor. A pleasant relief.

I see that they're getting sucked up the intake though. . . Since they're not harmless, I'll keep them since its the plants that I'm actually keeping and not fish (Yet).

    Regards

They might not be planarians. I took one out of the tank. They're bead-like....

Starting to think these are snails....

Its some sort of snail....but which one!!!

Cant be apple snails cos these eggs where probably submersed....I'm thinking pond snails....but pond snails are brown/black even at this size.

These things are the size of a pin hole...maybe smaller.

Don't think they are Planarians either - bodies to short and squat from the photo... Think they hare a small snail species similar to a marine limpet - has a flattened off shell that sits on top of the body... In the pic you can faintly see their 2 feelers poking out....

@TankMaster - Dude! a Pro photographer, winner of past "Photie of the month" competitions and NO MACRO LENS?.....lol
