Need some ideas / input

Hi, a while ago i tore this tank down, because it had a leek, but its fixed now.

We are also aproaching month end, so i can spend a little bit on this beauty.

I know this tank has a lot of potential...

My girlfriend said that we should get a different type of shrimp for this tank...

But what would you sugest to do with it?

Layout setup etc?

Its got a built in trickle filter, and it uses normal screw in type bulbs, as we use in the house, which is also 6500 k i think?

Your input will be apriciated.

NOTE: ive never done a planted tank in my life, so it will be new to me if i go that route...

Only thing that i can grow plant wise sofar is hornwort and frogbit...

How many liters does it take?

Best to go through pics on the net to see what you like. When it comes to plants, some are very hard to maintain. I prefer to use Anubias, Amazon swords, Vallisneria, the different kind of Spanish-like mosses and some duckweed floating.

 

Ja, i also think lotec would be best.

23 Watt opple CFL selling at R19 at Game ... on your 40l you will be able to grow most / all things under that light.

Not sure what you mean with "uses normal screw in type bulbs" I am assuming we are talking E27


BTW the B22's are 20W .. I have no clue why the difference in wattage.

Just check size in canopy.

Oh yes, and whats the best, but cheapest grow media to go for? And how thick should it be?

I love amazon swords, vals, and grass.

Dont want to plant the tank very dense...

Perhaps an amazon sword in mid background, then vals in background, with driftwood in middle somewhere.

Plan is also to use a sponge filter instead of the internal filter...

Will also have to think of stocking ideas.

Will try and get sn unusual shrimp type. Not cherry shrimp, because i got 50 in my one tank already...

Then perhaps a few ottos or something too. Dont know.

please create a photo series for me to follow. Although the planted setup does not suite me, I think they can be stunning to sit and watch.
