I have a standard 3ft tank that's planted, running and stocked.
Ive noticed the length ways panels are bowing slightly. And i dont want it to become an issue later.

Anyone who is able to assist in bracing my tank, i have no experience in doing something like this and would prefer to do it properly and aestheticly pleasing.

    Im in JHB south

Well hence im asking for assistance, i dont really know whats possible or not.

I had throught it would be possible to reduce water to like 20-30% that way i dont need a holding tank for my fish, as i dont have any other place.

Have you looked on You Tube ?
    Usually some good videos there.

I don't imagine you will be able to do this without completely emptying the tank

I have watched quiet a few, but not the most confident in my abilities to do it neatly.

However a memeber has approached me to assist, will see how it goes

Awesome glad someone has approached you. I would have also been able to assist but I would rather do it while the tank is empty

So all done, and without the need a holding tank. And enough water volume to keep my filter running. A seperate tank was set up incase our plan didn't work.

We first measured the width at the sides to determine the baseline (32.2cm, outside) then meaaured the center (32.9cm):(.

Started to drain water, after 10% masured the center, and not much difference but something. Another 10% measured, and repeated and about 50% we measured and to my surprise 32.2.cm.

So at that point hooked up a spray bar, pointed to the tank side and tested so theres no splashing of water near the bonding area, and was all good. Also running an airstone to help fish

Cleaned the surfaces well with some water and vinegar, made sure everything was bone dry and applied.

    Then applied the brace.IMG-20241018-WA0004.jpg IMG-20241018-WA0003.jpg IMG-20241018-WA0002.jpg

Measured this morning, still at 32.2cm and silicon is curing well.

So will give it till Saturday morning to cure and then fill to 75% measure and gradually increase. If i see any more deflection then its pro help needed. Or a nice reason to convince the wife we need a bigger tank.

Bigger tank is always the right answer
